At the heart of our High School Ministry is a passion for God, a passion for people, and a passion for service. Our mission is simple yet profound: to live the Gospel. This vision drives everything we do—it’s what we live, breathe, and strive for. We are relentless in our pursuit to live passionately for God, to love others deeply, and to serve with the kind of dedication that only He can inspire.

CALENDAR

At Forest Lake Church, our mission is to Live the Gospel, and we aim to inspire our youth to do the same. With 52 gatherings a year, Sabbath School offers a powerful opportunity to share this mission and its purpose. We’re committed to unlocking its full potential and invite you to explore our six-year Sabbath School Strategy to see how we plan to achieve this goal.

is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping others and showing them God’s incredible love. Our mission goes beyond meeting physical needs—we aim to make a lasting impact by letting God’s care and compassion work through us.

Inspired by Acts 3:6 (“Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you…”), we recognize we can’t provide everything someone might need, but we can offer the greatest gift: God’s love. When we serve, we give all we have to make lives better and share hope in His name.

Join Us in Serving with OCC!

For the past 8 years, the youth of Forest Lake Adventist Church have been blessed to serve with OCC, a ministry we’ve come to love. Through OCC, kids hear this powerful message:

"You matter to God. He loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins so you can live forever with Him. OCC is a safe space where you can discover that every action, choice, and word has meaning. With this understanding, you can step out into the world, share your goodness and GODliness, and make a difference through Christ."

We’d love for you to join us in this meaningful mission!

Orientation: Starts at 8:45 AM

Where: First Baptist Church Maitland (1950 Mohican Trail, Maitland, FL 32751)

Ends: Around noon

Important Details:

Fill out the Background Check below if it’s your first time.
Rides will not be provided, so plan to arrive and leave with your own transportation.
Meet directly at First Baptist Church Maitland, not at Forest Lake Adventist Church.
The whole family is welcome to serve!

Discover Your Spiritual Gift(s)

1 Peter 4:10 reminds us that God has given each of us special gifts and calls us to use them to serve one another. To uncover the unique gifts God has given you, we invite you to take the Spiritual Gifts Discovery Assessment.

How it Works:

Complete the assessment online.
Your results will be sent to our system to help connect your gifts with areas of service in our ministry.
You’ll also receive your results and can download a profile sheet for each gift to help you better understand and use them.

Volunteer Application (18 and Older)

The High School Ministry at Forest Lake Church is seeking loving, talented, and Jesus-passionate leaders to disciple our students. We take this role seriously because:

We want every young person to experience Jesus in a meaningful way.
Parents deserve the peace of mind that their children are safe.
We aim to build a team of fully devoted Christ-followers (not perfect, but committed).

To ensure this high standard of care, all Youth Ministry leaders are required to:

Complete a Level-2 FBI background check.
Participate in a training and screening process through Verified Volunteer.

Steps to Join the Team:

Fill Out the Application:
- This helps us understand your passion for student ministry and ensures this is the right ministry for you.
- Email the completed application to Mark Reams.
Complete Verified Volunteer:
- Visit Verified Volunteer and follow these instructions.
Finish the Online Training:
- Complete the training modules offered through Verified Volunteer.

LIFE GROUP

Life Groups: Building Deep Christian Community

What is a Life Group?

A small group of students doing life together.
Focused on accountability, Bible study, and authentic community.

The Goal of Life Groups

To create spiritual connections that go beyond surface-level friendships.
To model Christian friendship, which is unique and self-sacrificial.

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Why Life Groups Matter

Our culture often misses the depth of a true Christian community.
Life Groups meet once a week to:
- Study God’s Word.
- Apply biblical truths to daily life.
- Pray for one another.
- Hold each other accountable
- .Build trusting, authentic friendships

Every 1st Wednesday of the month, from 6:30-8:00 PM, the Upper Youth Center turns into the ultimate hangout spot. With laughter, games, and good vibes, it’s the perfect midweek break to chill with friends or meet new ones. Don’t miss it!

WORSHIP NIGHTS

Join us for Worship Nights, an extension of Crosseyed Cafe—a relaxed space to connect with your church family. It’s an opportunity to come together and worship God in a casual setting, complete with food, music, and great company.
